-Compare one thing to another |

-Explain what caused an event and what the effects were |
|
-Explain the steps involved in some process |

-Explain/Chronicle the order of some events |
|
-List details of some thing being described |
|
-Explain a concept and list examples |
If you have the assignment in front of you, determine what you are supposed to do now. Sometimes writing this purpose as a statement on the top of your note sheet is helpful.
