STEP SIX: Writing it Down
Once you have determined what information is important, you can
record it on your note sheet. This step is the one that most people think
of when taking notes, but there is just so much that goes on INSIDE YOUR HEAD
before or while you do this, that most people don't understand the process.
Some things to remember when writing...
-
Don't forget to put things in your own words as often as
possible
-
If you like A FEW of the words in the source itself put ""
(quotation marks) around the part you borrowed.
-
Don't forget to list what your source is somewhere on your
notes so you can keep it organized with other notes if you need to.
-
Label when asked to (arrows on organizers)
